The first thing to do before going karting is to get your Karting Australia license. New drivers have the ability to choose from two licenses when starting karting.

 

Recreational License

This license allows drivers to compete in Non Competition Event and one race meeting per year after completing an Observed Driving Session. This license is perfect for someone who just wants to have a bit of fun driving a kart or for young kids that are ready for competition. This license is also the cheapest option for new drivers.

Competition License

This license allows drivers to both practice and race. A driver will need this license if they plan to go racing. 

 

If a new driver is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must get a Karting Australia participant license. This is a free license to obtain.
