The following message was released by Karting Tasmania to update all karters in the state.
The Karting Tasmania Executive, Officials and Club Delegates all met on this evening (Thursday 30th April) reviewing the current situation with COVID-19 within Australia and Tasmania as well as the current situation within restrictions. Under advice from Karting Australia, medical advice, Tasmanian Government directives and operational requirements it is unfortunately required for Karting Tasmania to continue to cease all karting operations within Tasmania. The following restrictions continue to apply:
All race meetings will be continued to be cancelled/postponed until 30 June 2020
Private practice will be not available until further notice with controlled practice under Karting Australia regulations post 19th May after further consideration.
Further information regarding Karting Australia's plan for the future of events can be found at https://www.karting.net.au/karting-australia-maps-the-road-out As karters, we all need to take responsibility for the future of Karting in Tasmania and ultimately, Australia. Karting Tasmania's Executive and Clubs have not made this decision lightly and will review these restrictions and requirements regularly. Karter's are required to follow these requirements at all times. If karter's do not follow these requirements or are found to at a karting facility for private practice, all licensed persons at the track will have their license suspended for a period of up to twelve months. We thank all karter's for their understanding during this period of uncertainty. We look forward to welcoming you all to race meetings when we can continue. We would welcome you to follow Karting Tas', Facebook Page for further information and updates. Further information will also be emailed out from Karting Tasmania where required. Yours in Karting, Karting Tasmania Executive, Clubs and Officers.
